Gary Tim is new Director of Public Relations and Media Operations
SPRINGFIELD, NJ, (March 28, 2011) – Jersey Express has announced the appointment of GARY TIM to its Front Office staff, in time for its 2011 USL-PDL soccer season. Tim takes up the position of Director of Public Relations and Media Operations within the club with effective from April 1st.
A multifaceted media and PR operative, Tim comes to the Express at a time when the four-year old club is fortifying and expanding its mark on the soccer map in the United States and the wider international scene, and he is expected to add to this thrust.
A University of South Carolina-trained journalism professional, Tim brings a wealth of experience to the position having served in various facets of the mass communications industry for over two decades in his native Guyana, South America, and here in the USA. During that time, he has also held executive positions in several sports organizations, including soccer, rugby and track and field.
In welcoming the new appointee to the club, General Manager, Gali Maimon indicated that Tim is a worthwhile addition to the club, and is expected to use his credentials and experience to provide the club with first-rate coverage and promotion. “I am aware of his track record having had experience at the PDL level before, and I think both him and the club will have tremendous mutual benefits from this.”
Like Maimon and, assistant coach Lucio Russo, Tim previously served with New York’s Brooklyn Knights outfit – a former PDL Northeast Division and Eastern Conference champions.
"I am extremely excited to serve this remarkable club and its associate programs, by contributing immensely to its philosophy of ‘unity is strength’ and help to sustain its brand of soccer at national recognition levels and further,” Tim said on the afternoon of the final tryout session for the 2011 season - March 27th. "I would like to thank the Express management and players for this opportunity.”
The Jersey Express environment is not entirely new to the New York-based professional. Tim was previously named to the position in 2009, but could not take up the appointment then, due to other pressing commitments which required frequent sojourns outside of the tri-state area.
Tim replaces Nick Guerriro who performed duties in the capacity during the last season.
