
Nick Guerriero was named Media Director of the Ironbound Express in December of 2009. Guerriero will be in-charge of all media and public relations affairs for the Ironbound Express. His duties will include serving as the official scorer at home games, public address announcer and writer of press releases of all Ironbound Express contests.
Guerriero is also the Assistant Director of Sports Information at Manhattanville College in Purchase, N.Y. He is the primary contact for 6 of the 21 Valiant teams: Men’s Soccer, Field Hockey, Women’s Basketball, Women’s Ice Hockey, Men’s Lacrosse, and Baseball.
As Assistant Director, Guerriero is responsible for assisting with maintaining the Manhattanville Athletics website, GoValiants.com; writing and distributing press releases; serving as official scorer for many of the Valiants home games; producing team media guides, game programs and other publications; and promoting the school’s 21 varsity teams to both local and national media outlets. He will also serve as a broadcaster, calling the action from both home and away for many Valiant contests online at GoValiants.com.
Guerriero credentials began at Division I member St. Francis College, in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y., where he served as an assistant in the Sports Information Office for five years. During his time in Brooklyn, Guerriero served as a contact for several sports and worked closely with every sport at the school.
Besides his duties in the Sports Information office, Guerriero pioneered the Athletic Departments audio/video streaming network which he developed entitled the “Terrier Sports Network”. Guerriero “the former voice of the Terriers” was responsible for video streaming all home men’s and women’s basketball games, and select soccer and water polo home games; as well as audio broadcasting of all men’s and women’s basketball contests.
Guerriero had the opportunity to broadcast alongside MSG-Varsity Sports Anchor and NEC-TV sideline reporter Jared Greenberg for the 2008 Northeast Conference Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament at Long Island University (Brooklyn) and in 2009 broadcasting the Northeast Conference Softball Championship Tournament held at St. John’s University.
In his career Guerriero has announced and broadcasted from Keyspan Park (Brooklyn Cyclones): Division I Battle of the Boro’s Baseball Tournament, The Carrier Dome (Syracuse University): BCA Invitational; Division I NCAA Basketball Tournament, Carnesecca Arena (St. John’s University) and Richmond County Ballpark (Staten Island Yankees).
Guerriero is a 2009 graduate of St. Francis College, in Brooklyn Heights, NY. He spent five years working for the Department of Athletics as well as working with the colleges Communications Arts Department in the brand new state of the High Definition Television Studio as a student-teacher. In 2006, Guerriero was trained and certified by Ross, in Ottawa, Ontario for HD TV Production.
In the summer of 2009, Guerriero was named the Director of Media and Public Relations of the Brooklyn Knights of the United soccer Leagues; Premier Development League. With the Knights his responsibilities included marketing, managing the ticket office and merchandise stands, public address announcer and game statistics. In 2008, he served as the teams’ radio play-by-play announcer.
